My name is Christine Crom (most people call me Chris) and I am happy to be the Pastoral Care Minister.  

A little bit about my background. I am a Registered Nurse and I have a varied background including hospital, nursing home, assisted living and homecare experience.  
I also have insurance experience having worked for Medicare, Medicaid and a private insurance company. I have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a parish nurse certification.  

I have also served at several parishes in a variety of volunteer and paid staff positions. My most recent staff role was the Director of Child Ministry at Saint Francis Borgia in Cedarburg. As part of the religious education classes for the 4th and 5th graders, I facilitated visits to one of the assisted living facilities in Cedarburg. The evening started and ended with prayer and in between time was spent visiting with the residents and playing BINGO or doing a craft. The residents loved having the children come! One resident told me that “when children are around, you feel young!” As the evening concluded, that same resident would always shout down the hall, “don’t forget to come back!”  

As a nurse who worked a lot of second and third shifts, I know how important spiritual care and prayer were and are for patients and residents. Spending time and listening to stories are also important.
